PC DVD Converter is a device-oriented video encoder that can create good quality portable versions of your DVD videos. It will open any unprotected DVD and will create a new AVI or MP4 file compatible with your favorite portable player or console. Among the devices supported you will find iPod, iPhone, Walkman, Zune, iRiver, Wii, and Xbox, together with a long list of mobile phones.
Being a one-screen software tool with no conversion or quality settings for you to play around with, the whole conversion process requires very little intervention and knowledge on your side. This conversion tool relies on a closed list of quality presets classified by device that accepts no customization. Thus, you will only be asked to select the video stream to be converted, the language of your choice, and the subtitle stream to be included, and this only when your original DVD includes more than one video, and several languages or subtitles attached to them.
Despite this lack of flexibility – others would call it “simplicity of use” - the overall quality of the output video is more than acceptable, as the presets available seem to have been devised using the best possible settings.
